College of Legal Arts

Founded in 1974 - College of Legal Arts (COLA) was initially founded in 1974 because one of Portland's leading court reporting firms recognized the ever-increasing demand for more qualified court reporters. Since then, COLA has enhanced its curriculum to include complete training programs for:

  • Correctional Officer
  • Court Reporting
  • Medical Transcription
  • Paralegal
The College of Legal Arts is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and is licensed by the Department of Education.

The college is a member of the National Court Reporters Association, Oregon Court Reporters Association, Oregon Legal Assistants Association, American Association of Medical Transcriptionists, American Correctional Association, the Washington Federation of Private Career Schools and Colleges and the American Jail Association.
