In 1997 NAU established a second location to better serve the growing west side and Rio Rancho. The NAU - Rio Rancho, New Mexico campus is located on the second floor of the Sandia Area Federal Credit Union, directly across the street from Intel. "One Stop Shopping" is also available at this location with a full service staff, bookstore, library and two computer labs ready to serve students. A panoramic view from classroom windows and library overlooks the Rio Grande Valley, the city of Albuquerque and the majestic Sandia mountains.

Working adult model campuses- NAU has 11 other campus locations throughout South Dakota, Minnesota, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico, all of which are primarily the working adult model, though in today's changing business environment, younger students are becoming more and more interested in this type of campus.
