The Golden Spike Empire is the setting for the campus, nestled between Pine View Reservoir on the East and the Great Salt Lake and Antelope Island on the West. Antelope Island, a Utah State Park, is the largest of the Great Salt Lake's 10 islands. Visitors can reach the island by boat or by a causeway. The island offers white sand beaches, hiking trails, a sailboat marina, bicycle paths, horseback riding, and camping. Antelope, deer, bobcats, coyotes, elk, bison and waterfowl call the island home. Other attractions include Willard Bay and the Golden Spike National Historic Site to Ogden's North. The Golden Spike National Historic Site commemorates the joining of the Union Pacific and Central Pacific railroads in 1869. The site hosts railroad festivals and steam engine demonstrations, and a yearly re-enactment of the driving of the Golden Spike on May 10. Just south of Ogden, are Hill Air Force Base (home of the 388th F-16 Fighter Wing) and the nation's center for strategic missile management and maintenance. Snowbird Ski Resort, nestled in the tops of the mountains east of Ogden, is the site for the 2002 Winter Olympic Downhill ski event and Ogden's Ice Sheet will host 2002 Olympic skating events. We host the Ogden Raptors, a minor league baseball team for the Milwaukee Brewers.

The college was founded in Ogden, Utah, in September 1891 by Professor J.A. Smith as the Intermountain Business College. The school`s purpose was to teach commercial subjects and place graduates in business positions. In 1959 the name was changed to Stevens-Henager College. A branch was established in Provo, Utah, in June 1978 and another Branch established in Salt Lake City, Utah, in June of 1999. A learning site was established in Bountiful, Utah in August 2001. Stevens-Henager College was acquired by College America Inc. on August 28, 1992. Today Stevens-Henager College is widely recognized for its strict adherence to high educational standards.
