Dreams of a Better Tomorrow- TESST College of Technology began offering instruction in electronics technology more than forty years ago. The first RETS classes began in Baltimore, MD in 1956, while the first TESST classes began in Hyattsville, MD in 1967. In April of 1986, classes began at the Alexandria, VA location. In December of 1992, TESST expanded its reach into Baltimore by acquiring Arundel Institute of Technology. The fall of 1997 brought a new element to TESST when the first TESST Advanced Training Center was opened. The summer of 1998 was very busy as the Hyattsville and Baltimore TESST campuses relocated to brand-new, 40,000 and 30,000 square foot respectively, high-tech buildings in Beltsville and Towson, MD. The year 1999 brought about the acquisition of the RETS Technical Training Center in Baltimore. In February of 2001, the Baltimore campus moved to a larger brand-new facility. TESST Technology Institute was granted approval to offer Associate degrees on June 12, 2001 and became TESST College of Technology.

Kaplan Higher Education- In May of 2002, the College was acquired by Quest Education Corporation. Quest Education Corporation is a subsidiary of Kaplan, Inc. In December of 2002, Quest changed its name to Kaplan Higher Education Corporation. Kaplan is dedicated to continuing the same excellent education for which TESST is known.

Mission- The major objective of TESST College of Technology is to provide a quality technical training that will equip the graduate for work immediately upon completion of training. Each program of study is structured, blending classroom instruction with practical ”hands-on” training in fields associated with electronics, telecommunication, computer hardware & software, information technology, drafting & graphic design, climate control technology, medical assisting, pharmacy technician, massage therapy and criminal justice.

We take great pride in the success of our graduates and our job placement program. We are proud of the fact that the overwhelming majority of our eligible graduates are employed in the industry for which they were trained. Over the years, major companies such as IBM, Xerox, Bell & Howell, Honeywell, Allied Signal and many others have welcomed the technical skills, training and enthusiasm our graduates bring to their companies. When businesses and industries are seeking skilled employees or looking to update their own employee training, TESST College of Technology is where they turn. We have assisted employers in filling their computer, drafting and graphic design, legal, medical and trade positions with our graduates.

Advanced Training- TESST College of Technology also provides advanced training in software applications and certification preparation. Microsoft, Novell, Network+ and A+ certifications are emphasized, along with SQL Server and Visual Basic programming.
