Wichita Technical Institute Mission-
To provide programs in electronics technology, computer networking technology and heating, air conditioning and refrigeration technology, enabling students to become employable in an entry-level job in their field of study upon graduation.
To provide students with the basic knowledge and skills required for continued study in their specialized fields.
To set standards of education that will help students develop personal character and self-respect that is vital to his/her continued success after graduation.
Soft Skill Training-Technical training is only one piece of the pie. Wichita Technical Institute also teaches students how to be effective in a job search, how to communicate those skills effectively in an interview situation. These soft skills are incorporated into class lecture throughout the semester.
Local Market Advisory Board-The key to job placement is aligning training with market needs. WTI keeps training relevant and focused by ongoing review with an advisory board of local employers. As new programs are incorporated, such as our Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning curriculum, they’re designed around employer needs.
Employer Relationships-Over the years, Wichita Technical Institute has developed close relationships with local employers, touching bases frequently on job openings and employment trends. It’s not uncommon for an employer to skip classified advertising and call Wichita Technical Institute as positions become available.
